HUMS 165 - Clinical Skills HUMS 165 - Clinical Skills Introduces the clinical skills needed for human service practice. Topics include listening and interviewing skills, developing culturally-affirming working relationships, learning how to begin and end meetings, assessing readiness and motivation to change, establishing treatment goals, developing skills for working with challenges and setbacks, learning how to write clinical documentation, and knowing the steps to making referrals. (PCS 1.2, 3 credit hours - 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
