Surgical Technology Associate in Applied Science
This associate degree is an apprenticeship program delivered in partnership with Corewell Health South and the Michigan Workforce Training and Education Collaborative (MWTEC). Students learn to pass sterile operating instruments, set up equipment, and maintain sterile environments. The program combines online coursework with hospital-based clinical education to prepare students for the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) exam to become a Certified Surgical Technician (CST).
Prerequisites: Must be currently employed with a participating healthcare employer, Must be hired as an apprentice, MATH 122 or MATH 123, BIOL 110 Human Anatomy & Physiology, HEAL 103 Medical Terminology
