CSEW13 — NEW! Rags to Riches Weave Rugs
Rag rug weaving has a long tradition in our country. It is a way of being thrifty, using what you have and recycling clothes and materials such as sheets, jeans, towels, T-shirts, and socks that would otherwise be thrown away. Weaving a memory rug can be a way of memorializing a friend or family member. First part of class will be discussing material up-cycling, second part will be designing and weaving your own rag rug, table runner or pillow. Students must have access to a sewing machine at home. Bring a 3-ring notebook binder. Age 16+ welcome.
