Apply the concepts learned in Literary Analysis 1 to a real world setting similar to one you are likely to encounter during freshman Honors English. Engage in reading a classic American Literature novel. Complete analysis activities related to characterization and theme, thesis statement writing and annotation techniques within a novel. The novel will be one of important literary value and involve topics of social justice related to race, gender, social class and/or age discrimination.
