MATH 258 — GEOMETRY AND TRIGONOMETRY
5.00 Units (Lec 5 Hrs) Transfer Credit: CSU Advisory: Eligibility met to enroll in transfer-level math/ statistics Prerequisite: MATH125 OR MATH134 ; MATH 258 Placement Students learn the definitions, axioms, and theorems of geometry relating to angles, lines, circles, and polygons. Practice in critical thinking and developing logical proofs are emphasized. This course also includes the study of the sine, cosine, and tangent functions, including a study of their graphs, inverses of the functions, basic properties of the cotangent, secant, and cosecant functions, mea - surement of angles in degrees and in radians, evaluating trian - gles, solving trigonometric equations, models for periodic phenom - ena, trigonometric identities, vectors, complex number, and polar coordinates.
