3.00 Units (Lec 3 Hrs) Transfer Credit: CSU, UC(CalGETC Area 4) Students learn about the broad range of privileges and rights guar - anteed by the United States Constitution and subsequent amend - ments and laws that guarantee fundamental freedoms to all indi - viduals. These freedoms include the rights of free expression and action; the right to enter into contracts, own property, and initiate lawsuits; the right of due process and equal protections of the laws; opportunities in education and work; the freedom to live, travel, and use public facilities wherever one chooses; and the right to par- ticipate in the democratic political process.
