EDUC 001 — INTRODUCTION TO TEACHING
3.00 Units (Lec 3 Hrs) Transfer Credit: CSU, UC This course introduces students to the field of professional educa - tion and the concepts and issues that are related to TK - 12 educa - tion. Topics of this course include a basic understanding of a teach- er's role and challenges in society, contemporary education issues within historical, social, philosophical, legal, and political contexts, impact of government policies on schools and children, and the var- ious perspectives on curriculum and instruction. CREDIT COURSES ENGINEERING GRAPHICS & DESIGN (EGD TEK) EGD TEK 101 - ENGINEERING GRAPHICS WITH CAD 3.00 Units (Lec 2 Hrs / Lab 2 Hrs) Transfer Credit: CSU, UC, C-ID (ENGR 150) Prerequisite: MATH258 In this introductory course students will learn the fundamentals of technical drawing and an introduction to computer-aided design (CAD) with a focus on mechanical applications. Topics include the development of visualization and technical sketching skills in con - junction with orthographic projections; dimensioning and toleranc - ing practices, including a brief introduction to geometric dimen - sioning and tolerancing (GD&T); and reverse engineering. Lab work includes hand sketching and the use of two- and three-dimensional CAD software.
