WT 126 - Gas Metal/Flux Core Arc Weld I WT 126 - Gas Metal/Flux Core Arc Weld I Lab: 2 hours of lab per week. The theory and practice of Gas Metal Arc Welding - short circuit transfer (GMAW-S) on 1/8” and lighter mild steel will be welded in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Vertical up, vertical down and open root welds will be welded. Flux Cored Arc Welding - Self Shielded (FCAW-S) on 1/8” to 1/4” and heavier mild steel material will be welded in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
