NIP 217 — Transition to Practice in Health and Wellness Management

Prepares the student to assume the role and responsibilities of a registered nurse through the application of the nursing process and clinical judgment. Incorporates principles of leadership and management concepts in the delivery of ethical and person-centered care to patients across the life-span and in diverse populations. Integrates person-centered care for patients with complex physiological and psychological alterations. Utilizes interdisciplinary collaboration and delegation to provide holistic care and promote the health and wellness of individuals, families, and communities. Incorporates a clinical practicum in a health care facility utilizing evidence-based practice to guide the nursing process in delivering competent care. Lecture: 6 credits (90 contact hours); Clinical: 3 credits (135 contact hours).
