HPR 101 - Fitness Center HPR 101 - Fitness Center Lecture: 0 Lab: 2 HPR 101 is an activity course in Physical Education, enabling students to work out in the JJC fitness center with instructor supervision. Activity includes proper warm up/cool down, aerobic training with HR monitors, resistance training with weight machines and small apparatus with a focus on proper form and body mechanics. Students are required to participate in an initial fitness assessment and a progress assessment at the end of the course. Workout sessions must meet minimum requirements to successfully pass the course. Emphasis is on the basic knowledge, understanding, and value of physical activity in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, especially pertinent in view of the high incidence of hypokinetic disease in a sedentary society.
