ELM 214 — Pumps and Piping Systems
This course offers an introduction into pumps and piping systems. T opics include various types of pumps, pump analysis (power, efficiency, characteristics) pump selection and main - tenance, metal, plastic, and threaded piping systems, hoses, valves, regulators, strainers, and filters. Upon completion of this course, the student will have demonstrated the ability to: select, install, and start up various types of pumps, measure and calculate pump parameters and performance, disassemble and inspect pumps, size and select pipes, thread metal pipes, read and interpret piping schematics, assemble piping systems, select, size, and repair valves and regulators.
