DMSI 114 - Vascular Sonography Clinical 1 DMSI 114 - Vascular Sonography Clinical 1 During the first clinical rotation the student is required to use the knowledge acquired in the cognitive domain to display appropriate behavior in the affective domain. Knowledge from the cognitive domain gained last semester is also used as a foundation on which to build skills in the psychomotor domain. This is accomplished by scanning actual patients under controlled conditions. Content and clinical practice experience shall be assigned for sequential development, application, critical analysis, and evaluation of concepts and theories in the performance of vascular sonographic procedures. Through structured, sequential, competency-based assignments in the clinical setting, concepts of teamwork and patient care centered clinical practice and professional development will be examined and evaluated. Clinical practices are designed to provide the student with patient care and general sonographic exam experience. Care, scanning skills and proper ergonomic techniques learned in the lab will be practiced in the patient care setting. MAJOR COURSE LEARNING
