DMSI 109 - Abdominal Sonography II and Clinical Orientation Lab II DMSI 109 - Abdominal Sonography II and Clinical Orientation Lab II The student will also learn to identify cross sectional/relational and sonographic anatomy, and embryologic organ development. The sonographer’s role in the examination of organs. Pathologies of the organ structures are covered as well as pathophysiologic effects on organs, systems and appearances. Also discussed are the indications for the urinary system, splenic system, and abdominal vasculature based on history, physical examination, laboratory values, alternate, concordant, and correlating imaging procedures. Patient care during exams, exam modification based on patient status, pathological process, and use of alternate imaging enhancers such as contrast are also discussed. MAJOR COURSE LEARNING
