This course covers conformation, movement, and related anatomy, identifies characteristics of major breeds and introduces judging. Topics include breeds, colors, markings, disciplines, gaits, the relationship of form to function, the ideal structure, terminology for halter, and oral reasons. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate correct technique in judging halter, recognize structural faults within the horse, and present oral reason.
