This course provides students with the foundational knowledge, theory, practical application and work ethic needed to complete their other equine coursework. Topics include basics of equine evolution, nature of the horse, equine behavior, bandaging, wrapping, restraints, health topics, wounds, vices, body condition scoring and work ethic. Upon completion students should be able to perform and explain basic horse husbandry and stable management practices.
