POLS 17 — LATIN AMERICAN POLITICS AND GOVERNMENT

The course examines political development of Latin America from independence to the present, structure and organization of governments, political participation, and the role of the military and the church. In addition, major developments in the area of political modernization, democratization, economic growth and economic modernization will be analyzed.
