MUS 54 — PIANO I
This course provides group piano instruction for beginners. It emphasizes basic technical and interpretive skills. The course presents the foundations of keyboard musicianship, including standard music notation; pentascales; and tonic, dominant and subdominant harmonies. Practice outside of class and concert attendance are required. Practice pianos are available on campus. Students are limited to enrollment in four piano courses (MUS 54, 55, 56, 57, 62, or 65) for a maximum of 8 units. C-ID: MUS 170
