LIT 30 — INTRODUCTION TO THE NOVEL

Literature 30 introduces the novel, exploring its history, variations, flexibility and limitations as a literary genre. Students read from a variety of major novels--classic to contemporary and from a variety of cultures--in order to study the diversity of novelistic form and content and to discuss the various uses of and critical approaches to the form.
