LGL 210 — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
This course examines the different types of intellectual property ("IP"), the law associated with IP, and the paralegal's role including registration, prosecution, maintenance, protection, enforcement, and other controversies surrounding IP, such as infringement and dilution. The course will cover trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets. Students will analyze different types of IP, learn how to protect IP in the U.S. and internationally, prosecute applications, maintain registration, protect IP, and enforcement of IP rights. The course includes an assessment of legal definitions, legal research and writing, and preparation of legal memorandum and IP forms.
