HD 151 — TEACHING MATHEMATICS IN PLAY-BASED EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS

This course explores the emerging understanding of math concepts children can learn in a play-based early childhood program. Emphasis is on integrating a child-based approach and content standards. The theoretical perspectives of Piaget and Vygotsky provide a framework for teaching. This course is appropriate for early childhood educators and parents of young children. HD 151 was formerly offered as HD 250.
