3.0 HR (OC) This course is designed to provide the surgical technology or sterile processing student with the knowledge and skills needed to function as an effective team member within the surgical health care setting. Students will gain knowledge of the global aspects of health care as it pertains to surgery and will learn how to utilize resources to become lifelong professionals and learners. Surgical settings, hospital organization, legal concepts/risk management, standards of conduct, professional organizations, and essential workplace skills will also be discussed. Three lecture hours per week.
