MATH098 — Intermediate Algebra

3.0 HR. (BEC) Prerequisite: MATH 094 or MATH 097 with a grade of C or better or an appropriate score on the math placement test. This course provides a preparation for college-level mathematics. Topics include simplifying algebraic, rational, radical, and complex expressions; relations and functions; solving quadratic, rational, radical, absolute value, exponential, and logarithmic equations; solving quadratic and absolute value inequalities, and graphing functions. This course is designed for students who have had a minimum of one year of high school algebra or those needing a review of second-year high school algebra. Three lecture hours per week.
