DHYGN132 — Fundamentals of Dental Hygiene
2.0 HR. (OC) Prerequisite: BIOL 140 and CHEM 115, both with a grade of C or better, or department approval. This course is a continuation in the control and prevention of disease transmission in dentistry, dental equipment and maintenance, aseptic procedures, and an introduction to clinical dental hygiene necessary for oral prophylaxis. Student partners, manikin, and selected patients are used in the laboratory to demonstrate instrumentation techniques. Acceptance into the Dental Hygiene Program is required to enroll in the course. One lecture and three laboratory hours per week.
