MCOM 231 — News Reporting
This course is designed as an introduction to news writing skills. Throughout the course, students learn about research, writing, editing, and publishing news stories for a variety of media types. Emphasis will be on developing feature stories and news reporting. Journalistic ethics, effective research, publishing in print and online, using social media as a journalistic tool, and photo editing and cut line writing will be the focus of the course content.
