MCOM 130 — Video Production

is a basic introduction to the equipment, facilities, and terminology of the video media industry. Students will work in both a multiple camera studio and field environments to produce live TV shows, short films, news packages, and create their own media production portfolio. Students will also be introduced to the fundamentals of script writing, non-linear video editing, camera operation, and lighting techniques. This course is designed to better prepare students for a career in video production and to help students gain a greater appreciation for the nuance and subtlety of video production as both media creators and consumers.
