will study the forces and events that have shaped the modern world from the Age of explorations to the present. Among the topics we will study in detail are the world-wide dissemination of scientific, technological and industrial revolutions, the development of world religions, democracy and internationalism, the growth of nationalism, imperialism, and colonialism, the impact of Western domination on non-Western societies, wars and revolutions of the modern world, decolonization, and globalization as a historical development.
