Covers SQL Server architecture, scheduling, waits, and I/O. Focuses on SQL Server memory and concurrency, along with query execution and query plan analysis. Covers tools and techniques to monitor, trace, and baseline SQL Server performance data. Prerequisites: basic knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality, working knowledge of database administration and maintenance, and working knowledge of Transact-SQL.
