SOC 230HF — Honors Sociology of Gender 3 Units
54 hours lecture per term. This Honors-enhanced course focuses on a sociological analysis of the social construction of masculinity and femininity, historically and cross-culturally. It examines the debates on sex and gender and analyzes the impact of economic and political changes on gender expectations and practices. This course focuses on macro-analyses of how institutions shape gender and micro-analyses of how individuals are socialized and how they practice gender.
