PSY 251HF — Honors Social Psychology 3 Units
54 hours lecture per term. This Honors-enhanced course presents a scientific survey of the sub-field of psychology that seeks to understand the nature, causes, and influences of the social context upon the individual and of the individual upon the social context. Students will be exposed to basic theories, concepts, and empirical findings in such areas as social perception, social cognition, prejudice, discrimination, interpersonal attraction, conformity and obedience, by-stander effects, social aggression, group dynamics, attribution theory, and development of self in the social setting.
