MUSA 191 — F Intermediate Vocal Jazz Styling and Improvisation I 1 Unit

18 hours lecture and 18 hours lab per term. This course is designed to give vocal students beginning training in jazz styling techniques, rhythmic and melodic improvisation, and the fundamentals of lead sheet writing. Students are required to spend no less than 30 minutes per week in the practice rooms and/or listening library. Students should have prior training in the fundamentals of voice and music theory.
