MUSA 141 — F Beginning Strings 1 Unit

18 hours lecture and 18 hours lab per term. This course is offered to majors and non-majors who wish to become familiar with the basic fundamentals of violin, viola, cello, and/or string bass techniques. Students are required to practice at least two hours per week. Emphasis is placed on sound production, articulation, and basic music sight reading and theory. In addition, more basic concepts of teaching methods are presented in order to help prepare those wishing to enter the teaching industry at the elementary and middle school levels teaching private or group string classes.
