54 hours lecture per term. This course is designed for the non-music major and explores musical development from Middle Ages/Renaissance to the present. Emphasis is on active, directed listening to music and the discussion of choral, orchestral, solo, opera, and chamber works. Required out of class activities may include concert attendance.
