MUS 106 — F Introduction to College Music Theory 3 Units

Concurrent 54 hours lecture per term. This course is designed as an entry-level music theory class for music majors. This course includes basic music theory terminology, rhythm and pitch notation, clefs, scales, key signatures, intervals, triads (and inversions), and seventh chords. Basic keyboard will also be introduced, along with a concise outline of the major style periods of music history. The ability to read music is strongly recommended and desirable.
