CDES 210 — F Anti-Bias Perspective and Diversity Seminar 3 Units
54 hours lecture per term. This seminar places an emphasis on addressing issues of bias that individuals, children and families experience on a daily basis. This course requires students to examine their own world views and look at issues from a historical and cultural context. Students are challenged to take the journey on becoming an anti-bias educator in preparation for creating a culturally-relevant teaching environment where adults and/or children actively foster cognitive, emotional and behavioral skills needed to respectfully and effectively learn about differences and similarities.
