AJ 271A — PC 832 Laws of Arrest / Arrest & Control

This 40-hour course is designed to satisfy the requirement for Peace Officers, identified in Sections 830.10 and 830.11 of the Penal Code. A variety of topics will include things such as ethics, discretionary decision-making, arrest, search, seizure, communications and examination. In order to meet P.O.S.T.’s minimum arrest techniques requirements, this course involves stressful physical activities that require full use of arms and legs with no back or other medical impairments. This certified PC 832 course, which is designed specifically for Peace Officers, does not qualify students for certification as registered guards and/or armed registered guards with the Department of Consumer Affairs. Students will be required to pass a physical exam administered by a medical provider within the 12 months prior to the start of this course.
