NURS 100 — Nurse's Aide

This course prepares students for the roles and responsibilities of the certified nurse assistant and covers the concepts, skills, and procedures for providing patient care in the health care field. Note: Students must register for CPR 001 at the same time they register for NURS 100; CPR 001 is a co-requisite for this course. Students also need to comply with all immunizations, TB testing, and physical exam requirements in order to complete clinical hours. These include, but are not limited to: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (tetanus, diphteria, pertussis), seasonal influenza, and a 2-step PPD test for TB. The first scheduled class day is a mandatory orientation that covers these requirements. Failure to attend this orientation may result in being dropped from the class.
