NURS 080 — Intravenous Therapy/Blood Withdrawal

This course is designed to provide the student with instruction regarding the principles and practices of intravenous therapy and blood withdrawal. Topics include legal aspects, anatomy and physiology regarding intravenous and blood withdrawal, equipment used, assessing and treating complications, blood transfusions, total parenteral nutrition, and parenteral fluids. Certificate of achievement will be issued after the students becomes licensed as a Vocational Nurse. Intravenous sticks cannot be performed on clients until the Board of Vocational Nursing is notified by Feather River College.
