ENVR 238 — Leadership in Prescribed Fire Fundamentals
This course will build leadership skills in students in the space of prescribed fire. Students will utilize communication and field skills gained throughout the Prescribed Fire Fundamentals course series to instruct peers on completing site preparation, setting hose-lays and using pumps, communicating, applying fire with drip torches in various firing patterns, and implementing safe fire monitoring and mop-up. This course involves rigorous activity, including travel on steep and uneven ground and possible exposure to smoke.
