BIOL 320 — Botany and Tree Taxonomy

Introduction to classification and identification of vascular plants and trees, emphasizing major plant families and local plants. Students will use dichotomous keys and practice field plant identification. The course addresses topics including plant systemics, plant and tree anatomy and growth, chemical communication of plants, and ecological functions and relationships of plants and trees.
