ETH 022 — African American Music 3 Units

This course is an introductory survey of the history of African American music in the United States. Consideration will be given to the music's origins in West Africa to contemporary Hip Hop music. This course will examine the religious, social, political, cultural, and economic forces which helped to shape the music.
