This course continues to develop the role of the professional nurse and concepts of nursing practice with application to the care of acutely ill persons with medical and surgical needs across the lifespan. Critical thinking skills and strategies are further developed as the basis for clinical reasoning in nursing as they apply to the concepts. Development of knowledge, skills and attitudes occurs in the nursing laboratory and a variety of clinical settings within the healthcare environment.
