Basic introductory course concerning the fundamental principles of logic. The emphasis will be on deductive forms of reasoning from Aristotle's syllogism to modern techniques. The students will gain skills in analyzing and creating arguments and in seeing the applicability of the techniques of logic both to formal intellectual analysis and to the issues encountered in everyday life.(1.1) Fulfills the ECC/IAI General Education/Humanities requirement.
