This second level course is designed to build on foundational skills acquired in the introductory course, taking students deeper into the art and skill of digital photography. Content includes advanced camera controls, image manipulation software, scanning methods, and printing techniques. Students will discuss the impact of technology on photographic imaging as well as the effects on contemporary culture. The course will also investigate the aesthetic and conceptual issues within this evolving medium. Emphasis will be placed on using the tools for personal expression, cultural observation and developing the student's individual artistic voice.
