ART 119 — Digital Fabrication II (3) (6)

Building on the foundational skills from Digital Fabrication I, this advanced studio course challenges students to design and fabricate complex, multi-component 3D forms using digital tools and traditional craftsmanship. Students will use modeling software to create detailed design files and operate equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC milling machines. Projects emphasize joinery techniques, surface treatments, and multi-axis cutting to produce sculptural forms and prototypes. Through iterative design and critique, students refine their work for both aesthetic and functional outcomes. A portfolio of completed projects will demonstrate mastery of fabrication processes and design principles. (1.1) Proficiency Credit: Available (2 FIES) Pass/No Credit: Not Available.
