HIT 2110 — Health Information Law and Compliance 4 Credit Hours
This course introduces students to concepts of health law, legal proceedings, and patient consents. In addition, they will explore Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Administrative Simplification as it pertains to the legal health record and healthcare communications. Students will explore ethical issues surrounding the privacy, confidentiality and security of patient information in the health information field. (4 lecture hours)
