HIT 1301 — Anatomy and Pharmacology for Medical Coders and Billers 3 Credit Hours

Students will examine the twelve body systems, the organs that they comprise, and the function of each. Basic pharmacology terms, treatments, and routes of administration will be explored. Clinically important diseases, associated etiology, and manifestations will be presented. This course is designed to prepare students to be able to understand and abstract clinical documentation required to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural medical codes. (3 lecture hours)
