HIT 1109 — Inpatient Procedural Coding 3 Credit Hours

This course provides an introduction to the format and application of the ICD-10-PCS coding system. Students will learn the unique meaning of each PCS code character and how it relates to code application. They will expand their knowledge of inpatient procedures and ancillary services as they review medical documentation to abstract information pertinent to building PCS codes. (3 lecture hours)
