REL - Religious Studies REL 100 - HISTORY OF WORLD RELIGIONS This course is designed to acquaint the student with the beliefs and practices of the major contemporary religions of the world. This includes the religions of Africa, the Orient, and the western world. The student should have an understanding of the history and origins of the various religions in the world. PREREQUISITE: As required by program. REL 151 - SURVEY OF THE OLD TESTAMENT This course is an introduction to the content of the Old Testament with emphasis on the historical context and contemporary theological and cultural significance of the Old Testament. The student should have an understanding of the significance of the Old Testament writings upon completion of this course. PREREQUISITE: As required by program. REL 152 - SURVEY OF THE NEW TESTAMENT This course is a survey of the books of the New Testament with special attention focused on the historical and geographical setting.
