FIRE 002 — Fire Prevention Units: 3

This course provides fundamental knowledge relating to the field of fire prevention. Topics include: history and philosophy of fire prevention; organization and operation of a fire prevention bureau; use and application of codes and standards; plans review; fire inspections; fire and life safety education; and fire investigation. This course is designated Fire 2 by the California State Board of Fire Services and the State Fire Marshal and is part of the designated core curriculum. This course meets the Fire and Emergency Service Higher Education (FESHE) model curriculum for an Associate Degree as recognized by the National Fire Academy.
