FIRE 001B is part 2 of 2 courses that meet the requirements of FIRE 001 (Principles of Emergency Services). This course provides students with: an understanding of organizations and functions of public and private fire protection services; fire departments as part of local government; laws and regulations affecting the fire service; specific fire protection functions; introduction to fire protection systems; introduction to fire strategy and tactics; and life safety initiatives. Completion of both FIRE 001A and FIRE 001B will meet the Fire and Emergency Service Higher Education (FESHE) model curriculum for Principles of Emergency Services.
